LUFC Travel TryoutsWelcome to Lakewood Soccer Association

The Lakewood Soccer Association is a volunteer, nonprofit organization serving the community of Lakewood, Ohio, since 1982. Our mission is to provide the youth of Lakewood with the benefits and enjoyment of a team sport that develops soccer players through quality instruction while promoting sportsmanship, teamwork and physical activity.

Madison Park Futsal Court

Great News for the Lakewood Soccer Community: Madison Park Futsal Court!!

Last year, while working on his NSCAA Master Coach and Leader Diploma, Lakewood High School Head Coach Andrew Toth, began the effort to convert some rarely used tennis courts into Futsal courts at Madison Park. And that is now a reality.  Why Futsal? “I wanted to develop players who had a special love for the game and played it with incredible effort, energy and enthusiasm. I wanted to help develop a soccer environment that develops players who are creative dribblers, quick decision makers and able to play in tight spaces. So futsal was a no-brainer”, explained Coach Toth. “We saw futsal as the tool not only for growing our talent pool for the high school but also a way to enrich the lives and opportunities for all our youth, especially our many refugee, immigrant and low income kids.” Coach Toth said a number of people helped make this happen, including the City, the Rec Dept., and Lakewood City Schools, but Mayor Summers and his team at the City deserve the lion-share of credit and made it happen in less than 4 months. Looking forward to the arrival of the goals. This is a win-win for soccer and for Lakewood.
